SAVAGE WINTER (a new chamber opera by Douglas Cuomo): In this one-man, modern realisation of Die WinterreiseTony sings the role of the tortured and rejected lover, seeking solace in his own fantasy world. Accompanied by jazz trumpet, piano, and electric guitar, this work has been called “Incredibly compelling... a bold experiment with poetry and sound” (The Houstonian). Release on the Albany Records label is set for April 2024.
